Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tooling, achieving specific surface finishes for each application. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. The pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. Vertex also offers a new Phosphate Coating with increased hardness and surface porosity for superior Molybdenum Coating adhesion and durability. This piston is 76.97mm. For 2006-2008 models, it features high compression at 13.5:1. For 2009 models, it features standard compression at 13.2:1.
