Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex silicon-charged aluminum alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging and then refined through a high-tech heat treatment process in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quenching in hot water. Machining is performed on the latest CNC machines using diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special black Molybdenum Bisulphite coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating, developed following Formula One engine advancements, offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion qualities to the Molybdenum Coating, doubling the coating's durability.
