Machining is completed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a black Molybdenum Bisulphite coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating, used in Formula One engines, offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion qualities for the Molybdenum Coating, extending durability. This piston has a bore size of 76.96mm and a compression ratio of 12.6:1.
