Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon content depending on the application. Pistons are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process using automatic HT implants with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed with the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion qualities of the Molybdenum Coating for extended durability. This piston is Grade D with a 48.47mm bore and a single ring.
