Single ring race piston 48.45mm Grade B for KAWASAKI KX 85. Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% Silicon depending on the application. Pistons are manufactured using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, with material structure refined through a hi-tech Heat Treatment process. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid break-in and reduce friction. Vertex also offers a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness and improved adhesion of the Molybdenum Coating, extending durability.
