Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys, silicon-charged at 12%, 18%, or 21% depending on the application. Pistons are made using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, then heat-treated using an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating has been introduced with increased hardness and light surface porosity for superior Molybdenum Coating adhesion and durability. This specific piston is Grade B with a 46.94mm diameter.

Advanced Engineering and Design
Every Vertex piston is machined using state of the art CNC technology and diamond tooling to ensure exact tolerances and optimal surface finishes. To further enhance performance and ease the break in process, this piston features a specialized Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating which significantly reduces friction during operation.
Improved Durability
This piston also incorporates a high tech Phosphate coating. This development, inspired by Formula One engine technology, provides increased surface hardness and light porosity.
