They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a hi-tech heat treatment process. Machining is performed with the latest CNC machines and software, using diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous quality control. The pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid break-in and reduce friction. Vertex also offers a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion of the Molybdenum Coating, doubling the coating durability.
