Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, followed by heat treatment. Machining is completed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and reduced friction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness and superior adhesion for the Molybdenum Coating, doubling its durability. This piston is a Grade C, 66.37mm single ring race piston.
