KAWASAKI KX 125 1992-1993 GRADE A 53.95mm SINGLE RING PISTON
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex (low expansion) Silicon aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon depending on the application. Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, with material structure refined through a hi-tech Heat Treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines, software, and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new, all over, Phosphate Coating has been introduced, offering increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion qualities of the Molybdenum Coating, extending coating durability. Piston size is 53.95mm with a single ring.

FULL DESCRIPTION
High Performance Grade A 53.95mm Single Ring Piston
Enhance the performance and reliability of your engine with this premium Vertex Grade A single ring piston. Engineered for precision and durability, this piston is manufactured using advanced metallurgical processes to ensure optimal power delivery and long service life for your high-revving engine.
Advanced Manufacturing Technology
Vertex pistons are crafted from specialized Low-Ex (low expansion) aluminium alloys, charged with high silicon content (12%, 18%, or 21% depending on the specific application requirements). These pistons undergo a rigorous gravity casting or hydraulic forging process, followed by a sophisticated, automated heat treatment. This ensures a refined material structure capable of handling the extreme stresses found in high-performance racing environments.
Precision Machining and Durability
Each piston is machined using state-of-the-art CNC technology and diamond-tipped tools to achieve exact tolerances and specific surface finishes. To further enhance performance, these pistons feature a dual-layer coating system:
- Molybdenum Bisulphite Coating: A specialized black coating that reduces friction during the critical break-in period and throughout the piston's working life inside the cylinder.
- Phosphate Coating: Drawing inspiration from Formula One engine technology, this layer provides a slight increase in surface hardness and creates a light surface porosity. This ensures superior adhesion of the Molybdenum coating, effectively doubling its durability.
Key Features
- Grade A Precision: Engineered to meet exacting factory specifications for a perfect fit and consistent compression.
- Single Ring Design: Optimized for reduced friction and improved throttle response.
- Rigorous Quality Control: Every component undergoes both manual and automatic inspection to ensure the highest standards of manufacturing excellence.
- Superior Longevity: Advanced alloy composition and state-of-the-art coatings provide exceptional resistance to wear and thermal fatigue.
