Machining is completed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid break-in and reduce friction. Vertex has also introduced a new Phosphate Coating which has a slight hardness increase and surface porosity for superior adhesion and durability of the Molybdenum Coating. Piston size is +0.50mm with a 52.94mm diameter. This is a single ring replica piston.
