Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% Silicon. Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, then refined with a hi-tech heat treatment. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available for increased hardness and durability. This is an oversize piston measuring +1.00mm at 54.44mm.
