Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, then heat-treated for refined material structure. Machining is completed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and reduced friction. A new Phosphate Coating offers increased hardness and light surface porosity for superior adhesion and double the coating durability. This Grade C piston has a 53.95mm bore.
