Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex Silicon aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. The manufacturing process involves gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process using an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction, and newer pistons feature an all-over Phosphate Coating for increased hardness and superior adhesion of the Molybdenum Coating, doubling its durability. This product is a twin ring piston with a 53.97mm bore size and is Grade B.
