Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging and refined with a hi-tech Heat Treatment process using solubilization by quench in hot water. The machining is completed using CNC machines, software, and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness and light surface porosity for superior adhesion and durability of the Molybdenum Coating.
