Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon content. Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes and refined with a hi-tech heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new, all over Phosphate Coating offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion qualities to the Molybdenum Coating, doubling coating durability. Piston diameter is 66.37mm.
