HONDA CR 250 2002-2004 +1.1mm OVERSIZE 67.45mm TWIN RING REPLICA piston. Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex Silicon aluminium alloys. Piston blanks are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, then refined using a hi-tech Heat Treatment process in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new, all over, Phosphate Coating is also available, which has a slight hardness increase combined with a light surface porosity for superior adhesion qualities and extended coating durability.

Depending on the application requirements, these alloys contain 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon to provide the ideal balance of durability and thermal stability. The blanks are produced through advanced gravity casting or hydraulic forging processes, followed by a state of the art heat treatment that refines the material structure for superior strength.
Precision is at the heart of the Vertex manufacturing process. Every piston is machined using high-tech CNC equipment and diamond tools to achieve exact tolerances and specific surface finishes. To further enhance performance and break-in reliability, the piston features a Molybdenum Bisulphite coating, which reduces friction within the cylinder.
