Machining is performed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston is manually and automatically inspected for quality. Vertex pistons feature a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction, and a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, surface porosity, and enhanced Molybdenum Coating adhesion, doubling coating durability.
