The material structure is refined using a hi-tech Heat Treatment process in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using CNC machines and software, and diamond tools achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and reduced friction. Vertex has also introduced a new Phosphate Coating, which has increased hardness and porosity for superior adhesion and durability of the Molybdenum Coating.
