They are produced using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, followed by a high-tech heat treatment. Machining is done using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools for specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous quality control. The pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction. Vertex also offers a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, surface porosity, and improved adhesion and durability of the Molybdenum Coating. This piston is grade C with a 53.96mm diameter and twin rings.
