Grade A 87.96mm High Compression 15.1:1 piston. Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex Silicon aluminium alloys. The blank parts are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid in piston break-in and reduce friction. A new, all-over Phosphate Coating has been introduced with a slight hardness increase and light surface porosity for superior adhesion and durability of the Molybdenum Coating.
