They are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, followed by heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating offers increased hardness and surface porosity for superior adhesion and durability. This piston has a 67.94mm bore and twin rings.","attributes":[],"image":"https://www.twsgb.co.uk/Graphics/Std_Product_Images/yamaha-yz-250-1996-1998-grade-a-67.94mm-twin-ring-piston-1597-p.jpg","images":["https://www.twsgb.co.uk/Graphics/Std_Product_Images/yamaha-yz-250-1996-1998-grade-a-67.94mm-twin-ring-piston-1597-p.jpg"],"description":"Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon depending on the application. Precision-engineered for high-performance applications, this piston is crafted using advanced materials and manufacturing techniques to ensure optimal durability and power output for your motorcycle engine.\n\n### Advanced Engineering and Construction\n\nVertex pistons are manufactured using exotic Low-Ex (low expansion) silicon-charged aluminium alloys. Through a sophisticated gravity cast or hydraulic forging process, the structural integrity of the metal is refined via a high-tech heat treatment cycle. This process ensures the piston maintains dimensional stability even under extreme operating temperatures.\n\n### Key Features\n\n \n- Precision Machining: Produced using state-of-the-art CNC machinery and diamond-tipped tooling to achieve exacting surface finishes tailored to specific engine requirements.\n \n- Enhanced Coatings: Features a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to assist in the break-in process and significantly reduce friction during operation.\n \n- Phosphate Layering: Incorporates a specialised phosphate coating that increases surface hardness and provides superior adhesion for the Molybdenum layer, effectively doubling the coating durability.\n \n- Quality Assured: Every piston undergoes a rigorous manual and automatic quality control inspection to ensure it meets the highest industry standards.\n\nWhether you are performing a top-end rebuild or enhancing your engine for better performance, the Vertex twin ring design provides the consistent compression and heat dissipation required for demanding riding conditions.","weightGrams":null,"fitments":[],"collections":[],"links":{"page":"https://www.2brosparts.com/products/yamaha-yz-250-1996-1998-grade-a-6794mm-twin-ring-piston","buyOneNow":"https://www.2brosparts.com/api/agent/checkout/GB/d3941cb88e6d:1","basketWithThis":"https://www.2brosparts.com/api/agent/basket/GB/d3941cb88e6d:1"}},"market":{"country":"GB","countryName":"United Kingdom","locale":"en-gb","currency":"GBP","exchangeRateFromGbp":1,"pricesIncludeUkVat":true,"checkoutTax":null,"delivery":[{"name":"Standard","description":"Orders £15.00–£59.99 · 2–4 business days","carrier":null,"estimatedDays":"2–4 business days","price":{"amount":4.99,"formatted":"£4.99"},"free":false,"minimumOrder":{"amount":0,"formatted":"£0.00","gbp":0},"weightGrams":null},{"name":"Standard","description":"Orders £60.00 and up · 2–4 business days","carrier":null,"estimatedDays":"2–4 business days","price":{"amount":0,"formatted":"£0.00"},"free":true,"minimumOrder":{"amount":60,"formatted":"£60.00","gbp":60},"weightGrams":null}],"storeUrl":"https://www.2brosparts.com"},"navigate":{"start":"https://www.2brosparts.com/api/agent","search":"https://www.2brosparts.com/api/agent/search/GB/{words+joined+with+plus}"},"howToBuy":{"summary":"Build a basket for the shopper and give them one checkout link.
