Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, followed by a heat treatment process in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using CNC machines, software, and diamond tools. Each piston undergoes a manual and automatic quality control process. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid in break-in and reduce friction. A new Phosphate Coating, with increased hardness and light surface porosity, exhibits superior adhesion qualities of the Molybdenum Coating, extending its durability.
