Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes. The material structure is refined using a hi-tech Heat Treatment process. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and software, along with diamond tools. Every Vertex piston passes through a rigorous manual and automatic quality control process. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid during piston break in and reduce friction. Vertex has also introduced a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness and superior adhesion of the Molybdenum Coating, extending coating durability. This piston is Grade C with a 77.96mm bore.","attributes":[],"image":"https://www.twsgb.co.uk/Graphics/Std_Product_Images/ktm-exc-360-380-1996-2001-grade-c-77.96mm-1707-p.jpg","images":["https://www.twsgb.co.uk/Graphics/Std_Product_Images/ktm-exc-360-380-1996-2001-grade-c-77.96mm-1707-p.jpg"],"description":"Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon depending on the application.
